Getting Started
How do I get an API key?
After signing up, go to your dashboard and navigate to Settings > API Keys. Click "Create API Key" to generate a new key. Make sure to copy it immediately as it won't be shown again.
What programming languages are supported?
Veil Mail provides a REST API that works with any programming language. We also offer an official Node.js SDK, with more language SDKs coming soon.
How do I send my first email?
Check out our Quick Start guide in the documentation. You'll need to verify a domain, get your API key, and then you can send emails using our API or SDK.
PII Protection
What types of PII does Veil Mail detect?
We detect social security numbers, credit card numbers, phone numbers, dates of birth, email addresses (in content), medical record numbers, driver's license numbers, and more.
What happens when PII is detected?
By default, the email is blocked and you receive a notification. You can configure the behavior per domain or template to either block, warn, or mask the detected PII.
Can I whitelist certain PII patterns?
Yes! You can configure allowed patterns in your domain settings. For example, you might want to allow phone numbers in customer service emails.
Billing & Plans
What's included in the free tier?
The free tier includes 1,000 emails per month, 1 verified domain, basic PII detection, and access to the dashboard and API.
How do I upgrade my plan?
Go to Settings > Billing in your dashboard. You can upgrade, downgrade, or manage your subscription at any time.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and can arrange invoicing for enterprise customers.
Technical
What are the rate limits?
Rate limits vary by plan. Free tier allows 100 requests/minute, Pro allows 1,000 requests/minute, and Enterprise has custom limits. See our documentation for details.
Do you support webhooks?
Yes! We send webhooks for email events including delivery, bounces, opens, and clicks. Configure webhooks in your domain settings.
How do I verify a domain?
Add the TXT record we provide to your domain's DNS settings. Verification usually happens within a few minutes but can take up to 48 hours.
